CHEYENNE - Though the flying car is still decades away, the electronic medical record is approaching at warp speed.
It's an eventuality that means that one day your prescriptions may flow electronically from your doctor to your pharmacy; you could view your own medical records and schedule appointments from your home computer; and, not least, deciphering doctors' handwriting may be a thing of the past.
The latest sign of this eventuality is at United Medical Center, where paper patients' records are joining tax returns and student loan applications in vanishing into the electronic ether.
