Programs offered at OJC meet local demand
When local businesses in the community begin calling OJC to find trained workers, the college listens. Such was the case with the development of a new Bank Training Certificate program to begin this fall. The program can be completed in two semesters with a total of 31 credit hours.Tamra Collins, a member of the OJC Business faculty, will be the lead instructor for the program. “Over the past several years I have routinely placed students from the Accounting Clerk, Business, and Administrative Assistant programs with area banks. We knew there was a demand for training at entry level positions within the banking community, so we developed a program and received program approval from the state this spring," explained Collins.The Bank Training Certificate program will prepare students to conduct routine bank transactions such as cashing checks, accepting deposits and loan payments, and processing withdrawals.
