First Marblehead shares fall on news of loan rival's deal with ...
BOSTON Shares of Boston-based First Marblehead are down sharply after a Wall Street analyst reported a major client is sending some of its student loan services business elsewhere.
The analysts says EduCap has been servicing Bank of America-branded private student loans since late May. EduCap is a Washington-based nonprofit, and a rival of First Marblehead. Shares of First Marblehead sank more than 13 percent in morning trading. Bank of America continues to do business with First Marblehead for other loan products, and accounts for about 27 percent of the company's loan servicing. AKWA IBOM INDIGENES IN CALABAR BACK ATTAH’S PRESIDENCY
As more groups, organisations and communities drum up support for Gov victor Attahs presidential ambition, Akwa Ibom communities in Cross River rose from its general meeting penultimate to declare its desire to work for the governors success. Presided over by its president and head of the community, Obong Silas Nyong Akpan, the community said it was moved to support the governors ambition having considered his concern in granting micro-credit loan to young farmers as well as scholarship scheme to under-privileged pupils and students.
The Akwa Ibom community said it would mobilize traders, student organisations, young farmer associations, government parastatals and individuals for the realization of Attahs ambition. While also planning to pay a solidarity visit to the presidential aspirant in Uyo, to declare its full support, the community tasked other aspirants in the South-South geo-political zone to jettison their political ambitions for Attahs.The community pleaded with the entire South-South zone to collectively support Governor Attah so that the dream of the zone would be realized in 2007.
