Adults get training at CompuTeachers
She dropped out of Kent State University after the 1970 shootings and worked miscellaneous low-paying jobs. She ended up at the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation.
At 38, she began taking classes at the University of Akron and received bachelor's degrees in business and vocational education.
At the age of 46, Stebbins opened CompuTeachers, an Akron company that helps adults with advanced computer skills.
At the same time, Stebbins has overcome a number of personal challenges.
She is handicapped by spinal stenosis and is a breast cancer survivor.
Still, Stebbins, 57, has devoted the past 11 years to training adults -- both corporate employees and people in government assistance programs -- with computer skills for the workplace.

A Call For The Modification Of The Ghana
Ghana's higher education sector is made up of five state owned universities, ten polytechnics, and about a dozen privately owned tertiary institutions. This is obviously a tremendous achievement on the part of the country. Starting in 1948 with the nation's first diploma awarding institution, then called the University College of Gold Coast, the country supervised the development of both public and private tertiary institutions until now. Statistics available as far back as 2000 indicates that enrolment at the tertiary levels rose from 13 415 in 1992/3 to 44 386 in 1998/9. But with the University of Ghana alone having a total enrolment of over 26 000 students, and the explosion in the number of institutions as well as enrolment in both the private and public tertiary institution, the total enrolment figure may well have tripled if not quadrupled.
